Women today are doing too much. Women’s bodies were not designed for long term stress levels and the result is imbalanced hormones, a silent epidemic, which affects 85% of women. Most women suffer from some degree of hormonal imbalance. Due to this fact, hormonal imbalance is considered a ‘normal’ part of every woman’s life, destined to suffer in silence. The imbalance has very real physical mechanisms causing the symptoms and is not just another misunderstood mental health issue.
Symptoms of erratic mood swings, emotional instability, depression, anxiety, irritability, teariness, and anger coupled with physical symptoms of pain, cramping, bloating, flushing, acne, weight gain, aches and fatigue are affecting millions of women’s lives on a daily basis.
Unfortunately we often cannot change our life circumstances however there is one thing that you can do. MEDITATE. When you meditate, you practice the art of nurturing awareness and mindfulness.
Research has shown conclusively that meditation helps to reduce stress hormones and increases a beneficial hormone called DHEA which is the building block for hormone production and a natural antiaging hormone. When stress is reduced, the adrenal glands are happy. When the adrenal glands are happy, they release the proper amount of the hormone cortisol. When the proper amount of cortisol is released, the body’s cells utilize all other hormones more efficiently (including thyroid).
