“Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it, and yet, there is no peace without forgiveness” – Marianne Williamson
Forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance towards a person / group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they deserve your forgiveness.
Although forgiveness can help repair a damaged relationship, it doesn’t obligate you to reconcile with the person who harmed you or release them from accountability. Forgiveness brings the forgiver peace of mind and frees him/her from corrosive anger.
It empowers you to recognize the pain you suffered without letting that pain define you, enabling you to heal and move on with your life. We will begin this guided meditation by reflecting on what the word forgiveness means to you. What might it mean to bring forgiveness into one’s life, into one’s mind?
