Marriage Counselling or Couple’s Therapy sessions typically include both partners together but sometimes one partner chooses to work with a therapist alone. The specific treatment plan depends on the situation. Couples seek counselling for various reasons, to gain a better
understanding of each other, to improve a troubled relationship or to strengthen their existing bond.
With the help of the therapist, one learns certain relationship skills, which include communicating openly, solving problems together and discussing differences rationally. Couples are encouraged to look at both the good and not so good parts of the relationship and become aware of the source of conflicts, enabling openness, change and resolution, so couples can enjoy their beautiful relationship, while being true to who they are as individuals.
