Mudra Meditation – Connecting to the Elements

In Yoga, Mudras are symbolic gestures which are practiced with the hands and fingers. They facilitate the flow of energy in the body and allow you to go inwards. Mudras usually have specific purposes and functions, and there are 100s of Mudras that are used for various purposes. Using Mudras appropriately brings the mind, body and soul in balance and harmony.
Yogic sages believed that the five elements (fire, water, winder, earth, ether), are connected to our five fingers. Our hands are believed to hold energetic points for these elements and using the mudras in that way enables us to be in harmony with the elements as well.
Each of the elements also have their own function and purpose, connecting to the elements through the mudras brings an individual in direct synchronicity with the rhythm of the universe.
The mudras are such that:
- Thumb: Ether
- Index Finger: Air
- Middle Finger: Fire
- Ring Finger: Water
- Pinky Finger: Earth
This meditation connects us to the elements, to our energy centers and balances our relationship with the world around us. It opens up psychic abilities and connects participants to higher wisdom and knowing. It also aims to resonate you energy with the mother earth energy and participants can also received a personalized understanding of their element and what that means for them. This mediation will leave you feeling connected, grounded, centered and relaxed.
